Controller Says “Running,” No Water
We separate programming and controller-output issues from wiring, solenoid and valve faults.
When the controller says a zone is running but nothing happens, one station works intermittently, or a smart controller upgrade exposes an old wiring problem, the fastest repair starts with diagnosis—not parts swapping.
Call (313) 992-9900Request ServiceSprinkler electrical problems often look like valve problems. A dead zone can come from the controller, station wire, common wire, waterproof splice, solenoid or valve. We work through that chain systematically so the repair addresses the actual failure.
We separate programming and controller-output issues from wiring, solenoid and valve faults.
A single failed station usually narrows the search to that station output, wire path, splice, solenoid or valve.
Multiple dead stations can point toward a common-wire problem, master valve, pump control or shared connection.
Corroded or wet splices can work inconsistently. Weather-dependent failures are useful diagnostic clues.
We check bypass settings, sensor wiring and controller response before assuming the sensor itself is bad.
We can help with practical Wi-Fi controller replacement, zone programming, sensor integration and system testing.
We run the affected station and compare it with known-working zones.
We verify whether the controller is actually sending the expected station signal.
Field wiring, common conductors, splices and solenoids are checked as needed to locate where the circuit fails.
After the fault is corrected, the zone is operated again and controller settings are reviewed.
A Wi-Fi controller can make scheduling and zone testing easier, but it cannot repair a broken field wire or stuck valve. We treat the controller as one part of the irrigation system and make sure the underlying electrical and hydraulic system works first.
Zone configuration, weather features, manual testing and practical scheduling help.
Station troubleshooting, programming, sensor checks and replacement guidance for common residential systems.
Controller upgrades for established irrigation systems; we are not trying to sell you a new sprinkler installation.
The controller display only confirms the program is calling for that station. The problem can still be controller output, wiring, a splice, solenoid, valve or water supply.
We troubleshoot the electrical path and narrow down where the signal is being lost. The exact locating method depends on the system and whether the existing wire path can be traced.
Yes. We work with Rachio and other common residential controllers, including Rain Bird and Hunter systems.
Not automatically. If the controller is producing normal output, replacing it will not fix a broken field wire, bad splice, failed solenoid or stuck valve.
Call or text with the controller brand and what the affected zone is doing. We’ll use that information to start narrowing down the problem.
